Butte Mountain Farm is diversified, small scale, farm located a few miles east of Jackson, CA. We are a Certified Naturally Grown Farm following natural, organic practices. Our sheep are raised on grass and alfalfa. Our chickens eat a soy- and corn-free organic feed and sprouted organic wheat along with greens from the farm.
Our Products
We offer free-range and soy- and corn-free chicken eggs, stewing hens, and young meat birds (broilers). We produce a variety of vegetables, fruit, fresh and dried culinary and medicinal herbs. We offer vegetable, flower and herb nursery plants, 100% pure beeswax candles, and Cormo wool (fleece, yarn and roving.) You’ll also find treats for your dogs. We have a variety of items made in our cottage food kitchen. Every year we have lambs that are sold for meat. Please come see us at a farmer’s market or visit the farm at pre-arranged times.

Our Cormo sheep provide super soft fleece. We have this processed into roving and yarn within our local fibershed area for hand spinners, felters or craftspeople. Tanned sheepskin hides are also available.
Lamb is sold by the whole animal and available in the fall by special order only. For lamb please email us.

In addition to our seasonal fresh vegetables, we also make dried herbs and herb blends that are a great addition to any meal. Depending on the year, we may have dried fruit and vegetables.
Eggs / chicken / lamb
Free-range, soy and corn free eggs and frozen stewing chickens are available year around. Young broiler chickens are available at various times throughout the year. We also sell live chickens for those wanting to start their own flocks.
